The relationship between spiritual intelligence, awareness and the mysticism tendency

The aim of the present study was to examine the relationship between spiritual intelligence and the tendency toward Islamic mysticism and false mysticisms. It used a descriptive correlation method. The population of the study is all male and female students in public, Isfahan, Payame Noor and technological universities of Isfahan in 20112012. In order to choose the samples the cluster sampling method was applied. The sample size included 200 students composed of 100 males and 100 females. To collect the information three questionnaires of spiritual intelligence measurement and a selfmade test for investigating the students’ awareness and tendency toward false mysticisms and true mysticism as well and the manner of studies regarding mysticism were applied. The analysis of the results through ttest and r showed that there is a significant positive relationship between the score of spiritual intelligence and tendency toward true mysticism and awareness too; the degree of their tendency toward true mysticism is more than that of false mysticism. There is not any significant relationship between awareness and the tendency of male and female students toward true (Islamic) mysticism. The degree of familiarity with books related to true mysticism and false mysticism is higher in male students than female ones and there is a significant relationship between spiritual intelligence and the tendency toward true mysticism.
