Realationship between depression and quality of life using path analysis in nurses Print
The wide range of profession of nursing and their interdisciplinary nature has caused work shocks among hospital nurses and caused to change in mood, depression and other mental disorders in nurses. Because of health, safety and condition patients has related with health of clinical team members.
This study has been done to identify factors associated with depression and quality of life in Ilam hospital nurses.
This is a cross-sectional study that has been done in nurses working in Ilam hospitals in 2011. Path analysis is a statistical method that is used to test the causal models. For path analysis depression and quality of life, a hypothetical causal model designed, so was used of regression multivariate analysis and was obtained final model of the depression and quality of life.
according to path analysis, important related variables with depression were respectively, Mental component(quality of life), married status, shift working, age, physical component(quality of life)and Overtime hours working, that direct effect the variables listed was more than indirect effect(Through of Mental and physical component) on depression of nurses.
planning to increase of health mental in nurses, attention to variety aspects of family such as marriage, decrease and distribution of times working can be increased quality of life and decreased depression in nurses.
