From Physician's Practice to Scholar's Medical Views
Author(s):
Abstract:
Scholar of Qom Seminary It is clear that the religion of Islam does not ignore the physical needs of people. There are numerous hadiths about the etiquettes of eating, drinking, sleeping, food properties and health advice that prove this claim. People and some events are recently trying to replace Islamic medicine for modern medicine. They believe that religion will openly satisfy all human needs and, as a result, will not ignore the medical-treatment system. Given these assumptions in the Quran, hadith books of the Infallible Imams, and books of Muslim doctors, these groups apply special procedures. In this paper, the author tries to verify assumptions, references and their methods of analysis. He first has a critical view of their approaches and methods of interpretation of the Quran and then describes the correct way to use the Quran in the Medical Sciences. Reporting some examples of the life of the Prophet and his household, i.e. seeing a doctor when sick, he verifies Islamic approach to this issue.
