intellectual capital approach to promote sustainable competitive advantage in the public library in Khuzestan

Today, the world is has left the industrial economy behind and entered into the knowledge-based economy. Organizations are competing and developing using the resources which are different from those emphasized in the past. On the other hand, the intellectual capital, innovation, and creating the value are today the subjects noticed remarkably by managers, investors, economic-scientific, and governmental institutes. According to the intellectual capital and resources-based views, intellectual capitals are the only strategic resources which enable the organization to create value and as a result the superior and stable competitive advantage. This research tries to create and establish the stable competitive advantage based on the effect of intellectual capital in public libraries of Khuzestan Province. The statistical population includes 200 of librarians, employees, and intermediate managers of public libraries in Khuzestan Province. The intellectual capital structure investigated in this research includes human, structural, and relation capitals. Regarding the data analysis obtained from the research using SPSS and LISREL software, the positive significant effect of human capital on structural capital, structural capital on relation capital, relation capital on human capital of the research was confirmed, but only the significant positive effect of relation capital on the stable competitive advantage was not confirmed.
