The Effect of Emotional Intelligence Training on Rescue Police Force's Organizational Citizenship Behavior in Tehran

One of the most influential factors in efficient functioning of today’s organizations is the employees’ organizational citizenship behavior. There are several factors involved in this matter like emotional intelligence. This semi-experimental research was conducted in order to identify the impact of emotional intelligence the among the Rescue Police forces of Tehran. The statistical sample consisted of individuals who were selected using purposive sampling method, and allocated randomly into two groups (intervention n= and control n=). Data were gathered using two questionnaires; Sibria Sharing’s emotional intelligence questionnaire, and Kanovsky’s organizational citizenship behavior questionnaire. Data were analyzed by the SPSS software (version). In the descriptive part of the study, the results were illustrated using tables and figures. As for the inferential statistic section, the covariance test was used. The results showed a significant deference between the two groups (P=. ). It was also found that emotional intelligence training could enhance the organizational citizenship behavior of Rescue Police forces in Tehran. Moreover, the determinants of emotional intelligence (self-awareness, motivation, self-control, empathy, and social skills) had a positive effect on the Rescue Police forces’ organizational citizenship behavior.
