Iran Comparative Analysis of Cultural Dimensions and Indicators of Economic Growth

Abstract:
Economists believe that culture influences on economic development. Culture influences in various aspects of economic behavior and attitude. Study using cluster analysis and test ¬ ANOVA (ANOVA) to analyze and compare the Iran economically and culturally with other countries. To define the cultural use the dimensions of culture at5 years by Professor Haftsd ¬ 1980 to 2001 for various countries, including Iran, have been identified and studied, as well as GDP per capita countries, as economic growth is taken. Cluster analysis and analysis of variance shows that Iran is in the cluster of countries in terms of cultural, countries gather oriented, risk averse approach short and high power distance is placed. The results show that countries with the highest GDP per capita among countries in terms of cultural dimensions, individualism, risk-taking, with low power distance and due to the short period of time they have been. The analysis shows the specific cultural characteristics of economic growth is not the only reason for economic growth although that characteristics such as the effective risk influences on economic growth.
