Disaggregate Approach to the Modeling the Share of Mandatory and Arbitrary Activities Choice

Human life is the Sequential set of activities, that occurred in the different places and so people need to travel. Mode and route choice influenced by the purpose of activity that can be classified in two classes; mandatory and arbitrary activities. The Purpose of this paper is study and modeling the influencing factors on activity and in this regards, try to explain the share of mandatory and arbitrary activities choice among Tehran citizens by using the socio-economic variables. With surveying about 255 people in two days, about their activities and separating into two categories (mandatory and optional activities), the data-base is made. Educational and business activities classed as mandatory activities and other activities classed as arbitrary. Modeling the share of activities by binary log it showed that students with driving license, employed men and People with incomes between 1- 2 million Toman tend to do mandatory activities and People over 50 tend to do arbitrary activities.
