The Methods of Rephrasing Hadiths in " Majma al-Bayan" Exegesis

Among the topics discussed in the science of hadith، the issue of rephrasing (naql-be-ma’na) hadith is subject to debate. Those accepting it، consider it permitted within special terms. This article has studied the “Majma’ al-Bayan” exegesis which pays great concern to narrating traditions، as if it has rephrased hadiths and if so، whether the necessary terms have been observed. The method used is descriptive- analytical، using library sources. The results show that in this exegesis four kinds of rephrasing has occurred: replacing synonyms، referring to part of the words or subjects، merging words of different hadiths and reconstructing the hadith. It has also elaborated that this rephrasing has led to various defects.
