Psychometric Properties of Aurora Test on 9-12 years Old Children in Isfahan

Although the consensus in the field of human intelligence holds that a unitary factor (g) accounts for the majority of the variance among individuals, there are still some who argue that intelligence is composed of separate abilities. a theory in this field, is Sternberg’s theory of successful intelligence. The aim of this research was Study of Psychometric Properties of Aurora test in order to identification 9-12 years old gifted children according to Sternberg’s theory of successful intelligence. 400 children 9-12 years old in Isfahan city were selected through stratified random sampling method and were tested with Aurora test. The factor analysis of data was performed through Amos software. Fit indices show that data fit with model. Moreover, the correlation between test total score and the analytical, creative and practical intelligences were 0.91, 0.94 and 0.84, respectively. The correlation between test score and Raven Test was 0.55. Alpha for Aurora’s total score was equal to 0.92 and reliability with Split half method for Aurora’s total score was equal to 0.88. Aurora test can be an appropriate and valid instrument for identification gifted children aged 9-12 according to Sternberg’s theory of successful intelligence.
