Identifying and Prioritizing the Success Factors for Hand-woven Carpet Industrial Cluster in North Khorasan

The carpet industry dates back thousands of years، is our country''s cultural heritage and creates hundreds of job opportunities. Meanwhile، studies indicate that in recent years the industry has faced significant challenges. This paper argues that partial improvements will not achieve any result. Hand-woven carpet industry requires a systematic approach in the context of modern management systems and based on proper prioritization. Along with improving the elements، more and more emphasis should be put on improving relationships and among the components of the hand-woven carpet industry so that synergies can emerge. This paper introduces the literature of industrial clusters and the factors affecting their success so that identifying and prioritizing the success factors for hand-woven carpet industrial cluster in North Khorasan in status quo as well as the ideal situation. The statistical population consists of all the experts (40 people) in hand-woven carpet cluster in North Khorasan. Data is collected through paired comparisons questionnaires with elements derived from the literature and interviews. The results indicated that in status quo، physical Infrastructure، government support and suppliers and for ideal situation، internal network، access to skilled labor and marketers have greater priorities to the success of hand-woven carpet cluster in North Khorasan.
