The narratives of feminine experiences in literary texts (case study: Foroug Farokhzad)

Message:
Abstract:
This article attempts to interpret the lived experiences of women as narrated in literary texts. Any individual’s narration of his/her own life conveys the basic elements constituting his/her self- identity and lived experiences and these two change in terms of a variable called gender, so that we can talk of a category named feminine/masculine experience. In this research, the interpretation of feminine experiences in literary texts is theoretically based on Giddens ideas about self-identity, and methodologically based on using a qualitative method named narrative analysis. The findings show that in Foroug poems, despite a dominant shadow of disappointment, there are multiple signs of social hope and utopist ideas about women,s redemption from dominant patriarchy cultures and constraints. In her poems, urban space is conceptualized as a factor which has a key role in subordinating women and reproducing their subordinate situation.
