Special Verbs in Bandar Khamiri Dialect

The words of any language or dialect - as the material of the language - indicate the culture, the beliefs, and the lifestyle of the people who speak that language. The verbs play an important semantic role in this process. In the dialect of ‹Bandar- Khamir› (a city in Hormozgan province, in seventy kilometers west of Bandar Abbas, in Iran) we can find some simple verbs that have no equivalent in simple form in the official language. The use of these verbs in Bandar Khamiri dialect might be attributed to the frequent use of such meanings in the people›s professionallife that necessitate the use of simple form for these verbs. These verbs are «pazonden» (to prune), «cakiden» (in the air grab), «canonden» (to feed to camel), khasiden (to sting, to chew), «zaponden» (sudden drag), saronden (to shake hands while talking), «koroponden» (crushed metal container), «koropiden» (to crush metal container), «gecarden» (to massage), «mosten» (to sweep, to dredge), «morukhten» (to blindfold), and «harden» (to mill).
