Trend study of KIS research studies in Iranian Public Universities

The aim of this study is to identify trends of KIS research studies by their subject matter and year of publication as well as their subject gap in Iranian public universities. Descriptive survey method along with content analysis has been used in this study. Statistical population contains 1120 researches that 749 dissertations of these are related to theses in the Iranian Public Universities in the KIS field and 371 articles indexed by Iranian KIS researchers in the Simago database during 2004-2013. In fact 7 main categories and 18 subcategories were assigned for content analysis of researches according to LISTA category schema. Researcher-made checklist is used to collect data and collected data were categorized by mentioned schema. Finally classified data were analyzed and presented by using figures and tables.Findings and Findings and Results showed that library studies, Information Retrieval, Bibliometrics, printed and electronic information source, cataloging and classification, information technology, and information management categories are more considered subjects in Iranian public university studies.
