Studying and Analyzing Role of Feyziyya School in Revival of Shia School of Thought

Ever since its foundation, Shiism has experienced many ups and downs and in some historical epochs it has become powerful enough to establish a government. In this connection, various factors and phenomena have played their roles accordingly. As in contemporary history, at the public uprising of Iranian nation under the leadership of Imam Khomeini and upon the establishment of Islamic Republic of Iran, Shiism found another chance to revive. It is certain that Islamic clergy has played the major role in this regeneracy. Feyziyya School of Qom is one of the centers that was very influential in the intellectual growth of clerics and contemporary developments of Shiism. The study of the historical developments in this area and identifying factors influential in affecting the developments as well as the course of action for the revival of Shiism are all important matters of study and deliberation, and this paper intends to explain and clarify them. In addition to serving as a center of Islamic education, Feyziyya school has been a safe haven for the revolutionary forces and a center of theological and nontheological political activists in the contemporary history. It was the union of religion and politics that finally marked a new chapter in the life of Shiism.
