Studying the effective social factors in tendency of frontiersmen of Baneh to goods smuggling

background and
findings: The findings of this study show that there is a significant direct and positive correlation between social pressure and dependant variable (tendency to and acceptance of smuggling as a permissible occupation). the correlation between social commitment, awareness of the impact of smuggling and tendency to this phenomenon is inverse. there were various rates of tendencies between different age categories and educational stage of these individuals.
Purpose
Goods smuggling is an economic, social and cultural phenomenon which threats economical, social and hence, political system and national security of countries. despite acknowledging the multi causality status of this phenomenon, this paper has focused on studying the relationship between social factors and tendency of the frontiersmen of Baneh to goods smuggling.Methodology
The methodology of this study is based on surveying and data collection instruments include questionnaires and interviews. study population consists of the goods smugglers among the frontiersmen of Baneh who engaged in smuggling in 1393. Sample size was 381 people who were selected by Cochran's formulas and were divided into three groups of backpackers, merchants and smugglers with Disproportionate Stratification method. In the next step, the Purposive Sampling and Available Sampling methods for backpackers and merchants and Snowball Sampling method for smugglers were used.findings: The findings of this study show that there is a significant direct and positive correlation between social pressure and dependant variable (tendency to and acceptance of smuggling as a permissible occupation). the correlation between social commitment, awareness of the impact of smuggling and tendency to this phenomenon is inverse. there were various rates of tendencies between different age categories and educational stage of these individuals.
Results
Theoretical analysis of this findings based on cultural and economical context of Baneh indicates a meaningful relation between social factors and tendency to goods smuggling which lies at the root of the overall underdevelopment of this region.Keywords:
