Implausibility of the Theory that All Concepts Are Self-evident

Unlike his predecessors and successors, Fakhr Razi holds the view that all concepts are self-evident. To prove his point of view, he presents two arguments both of which are rejected by scholars, including KhÁwja NaÒir al- Din al-Óusi. The successors of KhÁwja followed in his footstep in rejecting this view. MullÁ ÑadrÁ has, however, answered RÁzi's first argument using a different methodology whereas MurÁghi has rejected it on the basis of logic. Unlike all other scholars, one contemporary scholar strongly supports RÁzi's view making enormous effort to reject the arguments put forth by KhÁwja and MullÁ ÑadrÁ. The present article aims at presenting further arguments against Razi's view and answering the arguments presented to weaken the views of KhÁwja and ÑadrÁ.
