Comparison of metacognitive beliefs and perfectionism in normal people and individuals with Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

Abstract:
Introduction
the current study aimed to determine the differences between metacognitive beliefs and perfectionism in normal people and individuals with Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
Methods
the studies population consists of OCD and normal people who refer to 3 counseling clinics of Bojnourd. The study method was Causal-Comparative. Study sample includes 40 people with OCD and normal people (20 people each) which were selected by available sampling procedure. MANOVA result reveals that, there were significant differences in metacognitive beliefs and perfectionism in both groups. Patients with OCD had significant deficiency in abstract thought, cognitive flexibility and improving efficiency with normal people. .Due to significant difference between OCD and normal people it is necessary to pay more attention to weak point of Obsessive–compulsive disorder people.
