Investigating the relation between sense of loneliness among deaf students in Karaj and the amount of relationship with peer group and parental encouragement for the relationship

Abstract:
This research investigates the relation between sense of loneliness among deaf students in Karaj and the amount of relationship with peer group and parental encouragement for the relationship. The sample included 100 female and male students, both deaf and hearing, selected through normal sampling method. The samples underwent test using a parental encouragement questionnaire ,scale of deaf student's sense of loneliness and group survey grading scale. To analyze the data, Pearson correlation method, one-way analysis of variance and independent t-test were used. The study findings revealed no difference between the sense of loneliness felt by male and female students. However, there was a difference between the sense of loneliness felt by deaf students and that of hearing students. There was a negative correlation between sense of loneliness and parental encouragement. Moreover ,deaf student's sense of loneliness proved to be different based on three levels of acceptance.
