Studying the relationship between parental participation in educational process of elementary students and their educational achievement

The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between parental participation in educational process of elementary students and their educational achievement .For this purpose, six questions regarding the proposed components were studied. Statistical population included all elementary schools principals in Gonbad. A sample of 232 was selected. A researcher-made questionnaire containing 35 questions was used as the research tool. its validity was determined by experts in the field. A pilot study was used to establish the reliability of the instrument. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were employed to analyze the data. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between parental participation in educational process of elementary students and their educational achievement. An atmosphere free of tension at home and economic welfare are also positively correlated with educational achievement of students. The degree to which parents take care of student's leisure time has also positive relationship to their success. The cooperation of parents and school management are also positively correlated with student's level of achievement.
