The Effect of Social Capital on Empathy and Compassion and National Power

The main objective of this paper is to analyze the factors that affecting on the national power arising from empathy and compassion based on Iran`s social capital and determining the direct and indirect effects on empathy and compassion. The dependent variable in this study is national power and the great independent variable is empathy and compassion and the slight independent variables are the factors such as sense of shared picture of the future among the people, a sense of shared picture of the future among the people and officials, people integrity, the integrity of the people and authorities, mutual trust among people, mutual trust among people and officials.
The preliminary findings of the date analysis show that some variables have a direct impact on national power in the Islamic Republic of Iran; there are some variables that influence on the elements of empathy and compassion that indirectly affect the national power. In this study, we applied the method of path analysis. The results of this study show that the public confidence with standardized coefficients 0/545 and the integrity of the people and authorities with standardized coefficients 0/427 have the greatest impact than other variables; and feel variables common image of the future with standardized coefficients 0/09 and people integrity with standardized coefficients 0/149 have minimal impact on national power in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
