Structural Model of the Relationship between CoachesSelf-Efficacy, Student's Physical Self-Efficacy and Physical Activity Enjoyment from Physical Education Course

Abstract:
The aim of the present study was to investigate coaches and young athlete's self-efficacy andyoung athlete's enjoyment from physical activity. The study examined the effect of self-efficacy on enjoyment from physical activity in young athletes using Structural Equation Model (SEM) and Lisrel software. Results showed thatcoache's self-efficacyhad no significant effects onstudent's self-efficacy. Physical self-efficacy had a significant and positive effect on enjoyment from physical activity in students. Coache's self-efficacy had no significant effects on enjoymentfrom physical activity in students. With regard to the effect of self-efficacy on young athlete's enjoyment, coaches and authorities of sport teams and schools are recommended to improve psychological skills and self-efficacy of athletes through short-term psychological courses and classes. Also, it is suggested that athlete's enjoyment (especially young athletes and adolescents) should receive attention as enjoyment from physical activity is considered as an important source of participation and its persistence in athletes.
