Application of Action Research in Nursing Science Education

Action-oriented research such as action research and participatory action research in recent decades as a significant methodology for intervention, development and change within groups and communities is known and now many university programs around the world will follow. In this article the expression and definition of this type of research brief history of its use in nursing science education are described.
This article is a narrative review which gathered information through Internet search (PubMed, Google Scholar, and Medline) was carried out. The limited literature in English and Persian, without limitation of time, 38 articles were found, of which 9 papers related to the keyword selected and evaluated.
The results of this study indicate that this action research will improve the quality of nursing research, innovation, training, team participation and the development of learning occurs.
