Comparative Investigation of Kinship Terms in Some Varieties of Kerman Province (Based on Murdak's mode of use pattern)

Abstract:
At recent years, there have been several researches on phonological, morphological and syntactic structure of Persian dialects but anthropological aspects of these dialects have not been received enough attention. The goal of this research is to investigate Kinship terms in Kermani, Kuhbanani, Bardsiri, Bafti, Jirofti, Kahnuji, Fariyabi and Ghaleganji varieties of Kerman province. According to Murdak, Kinship Terms are divided into three categories: mode of use, linguistic structure and range of application. In this paper, Kinship Terms are investigated according to mode of use. In general, 45 Kinship Terms of these varieties are collected which can be divided into three categories. Contrastive investigations of these data show that Kinship Terms of south kerman varieties are more different than standard Persian in comparison with north kerman. Findings of the research show that Gender And bifurcation Criteria of Murdak mode of use pattern are ignored in some Kinship Terms of south kerman varieties but all of the Criteria of Murdak mode of use pattern are regarded in Kinship Terms of north kerman varieties.
