Explaining the Relationship between Task Performance and Citizenship Behaviors on the Basis of Moderating Role of Psychological Health

Abstract:
This study was administered with the purpose of studying the relationship between task performance and organizational citizenship behaviors considering the moderating role of psychological health in work setting. Research method was correlation and research sample were 381 employees of Melli bank in Tehran province. Research instruments were consisted of task performance questionnaire (Paterson, 1963), organizational citizenship behaviors questionnaire (Lee & Allen, 2002), and psychological health in work setting questionnaire (Mahdad, 2010). Data were analyzed using hierarchical regression analysis. Results showed that, there is a significant relationship between task performance and organizational citizenship behaviors. Also results showed that environmental diversity of psychological health in work setting components moderates the relationship between job performance and organizational citizenship behaviors. That is, when environmental diversity is high, there is a positive significant relationship between job performance and organizational citizenship behaviors.
