Identifying the interpersonal factors affecting organizational silence in the Headquarters of Iran University of Medical Sciences

Competition and maintenance of corporate life in today's challenging and changing world will require the use of valuable human capital that is creative, responsible, confident, and believe in sharing knowledge and organizational knowledge. It is hardly essential for organization to have employees whose interests are harmonious with the interests of the organization and share the available knowledge to achieve the goals of the organization. To obstruct against destructive phenomenon such as burnout and organizational silence, employees ought to be intensely encouraged to share information and knowledge across theorganizational hierarchy. This survey researchaimed to identify the individual factors initiator of organizational silence. Consequently, 5 hypotheses were considered. Data from 234 patients sample in headquarters of Iran University of Medical Sciences were collected. Moreover, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling, using software PLS smart version 2 were used to analyze the data. The results showed that distrust and cynicism, consistency with others and dodge had significant effect on organizational silence. Additionally, maintenance of the current situation did not have any effect on organizational silence.
