Explanation of sex and gender considerations in existential feminism and a critique of its challenges based on Islamic teachings

Abstract:
Existential feminism, one of the variations of feminism, challenges the existing system of values to establish the desirable place of women and elaborate in how this can be achieved. Existential feminists believe that male-dominated value system is the cause of women’s failure in achieving their true place in society. They believe that ethics based on existential feminism is the key for regaining such status. In existential feministic value system ethics and virtues are genderneutral, and there is no normative difference between men and women. Whatever has been described as manly is present in women as well. Virtues ascribed to women are also illusions. Women are equally potent to get to the perfection point. As a result, there is no normative difference between genders, while similarities can be achieved.
