Introduction to Maimonide's viewpoint on the role of Intellect and The Law in Human's perfection

Abstract:
Maimonides considers the Intellect as most important distinguishing factor of Mankind from other species that God has made human a gift of it. In opinion of this thinker , the benefit of this Gem determines the degrees of individuals in closeness to God. He believes the usage of reason and knowledge in arena of society causes social promotion and better interactions among people.
As a prominent Rabbi, Maimonides emphasizes that following the commandments of the Law that is harmonious with the standards of intellect and wisdom, can take the man to material and spiritual perfection and pave the way for intellectual and moral flourishing of person and society. In this relation, Maimonides introduces stages for human perfection and believes that achieving ultimate perfection i.e. metaphysical knowledge and knowing of God and his Actions provide final felicity for man. Nevertheless in opinion of this philosopher, none of these features does not justify a belief in the centrality of human beings among creatures. So he is not the goal of creation.
