Reduction of Tendency to Remarriage: (Case Study of Female Household Heads in Isfahan)

This study seeks to describe and interpret the actions and lived experience of participants (female household heads covered by Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation in Isfahan Province) in the event of divorce and re-marriage and to explain the reasons of their reduced susceptibility to remarriage. The complexity and multifaceted phenomena being studied, on one hand and the field being interested in a cultural context, on the other hand, have led us to adopt a qualitative approach and phenomenological and grounded theory strategy. For this purpose, we worked with various tools such as research data and semi-structured in-depth interviews, field observation and participation, informal conversations and also used documents, reports, and so on. Finally, findings were presented in Strauss and Corbin paradigm model.
Field of study were lived worlds of clients under the auspices of World Relief Foundation. The population under study includes female households heads aged 18 to 45 years under the auspices of Isfahan Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation that at least once married but have already decided not to remarry or don’t have any intention to remarry.
In this study, the combination of phenomenology and grounded theory, qualitative and purposeful and theoretical sampling methods were used. In-depth interview technique was applied for data Gathering. The results include one main theme of “the trajectory of life before divorce” and 6 other themes including "family background before marriage," "marriage conditions" "characteristics of spouse", "sexual relationship", "trying to save marriage" and "main spark for divorce". Grounded theory as a context model includes "conditions", "engagement" and "consequences" which all these three aspects have presented themselves in a final theory.
