Evaluation of antagonistic effect of isolated lactobacillus strains from traditional Cruds of Golestan province against some gastrointestinal pathogenic bacteria

According to importance of the use of probiotics in food products, recognition of Iranian traditional foods, that contain lactic acid bacteria is important. Lactobacillus is the most important genus of lactic acid bacteria in the dairy products and use of some species of lactobacillus with the probiotic potential can be effective in inhibiting the growth of some pathogens and treatment and control of some gastrointestinal diseases. the aim of this study was to evaluate the antagonistic effect of isolated lactobacillus from traditional cruds of Gorgan township in golestan province against four gastrointestinal pathogenic bacteria. In This study,crud samples sub-cultured on media cultures of MRS agar and after identification of isolated Lactobacillus, evaluation of antibacterial activity of their supernatant against four gastrointestinal pathogenic bacteria was performed by using agar well diffusion method.
