Ranking the issues and components of social responsibility in banking system Based on the Group Analytical Hierarchy Process (GAHP)

Social responsibility is one of the issues that have recently drawn many organizations’ attention. In fact, today, managers, customers and shareholders of organizations have realized that they are responsible towards all shareholders, environment and the society in which they operate regardless of their activity. This research is a descriptive, practical survey, which is performed in order to provide a framework for weighting and ranking of social responsibility in the country's banking system. Social responsibility includes 6 aspects of economic, humanistic, ethical, legal, religious responsibilities and banking technology responsibilities. In this study country's banks are also analyzed in 4 categories of state-owned, semi-governmental, private and Credit Union banks, using the Group Analytic Hierarchy Process (GAHP). So, these banks are ranked in terms of their commitment to social responsibility and fulfilling their obligations. Then regarding 6 aspects of social responsibility, each one of the 4 types of banking systems are given ranks. Finally, various examples of social responsibility have been put together to be compared and ranked with regard to their categories. The data collected was studied and tested by Analytic Hierarchy Process using “Expert Choice” software. Regarding the fulfillment of social responsibility in the banking system, the results of this study show that among different aspects of social responsibility, economic responsibilities are the best ranking, considering which, credit unions as an index of Islamic banking are leading other banks while the second rank belongs to the state-owned banks.
