Analysis and Criticism of Picturing Teaching Role in Textbooks for Teaching Arabic Language and Literature to Non-Arabs (Case Study: Tarikh Aladab Alarabi, written by Hanna Alfakhoori)

Picture is one of the most important influential factors on learning-teaching process that has been used in different academic textbooks since a long time ago. Some academic textbooks on history of literature also make learning of historical issues more tangible through using pictures. But a helpful picture develops and facilitates learning from the text and is not merely a decorative object. And providing a textbook with a helpful picture is possible just through using standards of educational picture. Thus, it is very important to know and use these standards.
Using descriptive-analytic method and relying on the opinions of experts about the characteristics of suitable pictures for academic textbooks, the present study is going to investigate the amount of using standards of educational picture in Hanna Alfakhoori's Tarikh Aladab Alarabi which is one of the important academic recourses in Iran universities. Results show that many of the important and effective characteristics of a suitable picture for an academic textbook have rarely been used or have not been used in the pictures of this book.
