Prediction of Critical Thinking Based on Emotional Creativity in University Students

Abstract:
Background
Despite, the emotional creativity play important role in adjustment and interpersonal relationships, because the concept of emotional creativity was introduced recently there is very little research has been done to explore it,s correlate –related,.
Objective
The current study was to investigated the prediction of critical thinking by emotional creativity and it,s components in university students.
Method
One hundred fifty six Shiraz university students were selected by convenient sampling method. Emotional Creativity and Critical Thinking Questionnaires were used for collecting data. Data were analysised by Pearson correlation test, simple and multiple regression analysis.
Findings: Results showed that emotional creativity was positively related to critical thinking. Also, critical thinking was significantly associated with components of effectiveness/authenticity and preparedness, but there was not significantly association with component of novelty. In additional, emotional creativity was positively correlated with all if components of critical thinking: Engagement, Maturity, and Innovativeness. Simple regression analysis indicated emotional creation significantly predicted critical thinking. Furthermore, multiple regression analysis showed that among of components of emotional creativity, effectiveness/authenticity component only significantly predicted critical thinking.
Conclusion
Based on the obtained findings, it can be concluded that with training emotional creation emphasis on effectiveness/authenticity in students, can improve and extend their critical thinking which that it has potentiality high contribution for achievement academic and work progress.
