personality factors and coping strategies based Problem solving and Emotion in men and women with and without type 2 diabetes

Diabetes is the most complex disease in the case of management and self-care and the best treatment is prevention. This study aimed to compare the personality factors and coping strategies in healthy men and women with type 2 diabetes.
Material & This study is a causal-comparative research.The study population included all patients with type 2 diabetes and their relatives who were referred to Khorramabad Shohadaye Ashayer hospital during the May, June and July of 2015. Fifty people with type 2 Diabetes and 50 healthy subjects were considered as patients and healthy control groups, respectively. Data were collected using Questionnaire (EPQ-R) and F coping strategies (WCQ). For data analysis SPSS18 software was used.
Results showed that there were significant differences between the people with type 2 diabetes and normal group in the case of neuroticism and psychosis sense (P According to the results, personality factors of neuroticism and psychosis temperamental and self-care strategies can be as important antecedents to be considered in diabetic patients. In comparing the two types of coping, problem solving strategies have more useful results in helping to the patients with type 2 diabetes.
