Death and pondering over death in poems of Shafiei Kadkani

Abstract:
Death is unknown phenomenon that is always occupied human mind and thought. Poets and thinkers of every nation are also different views on death and existence that they explain them in forms of art and literature. Mohammad Reza Shafiei Kadkani, born in 1939, is contemporary prominent the poet and researcher who have special attention to items of life and death. The authors of this paper have tried to investigate the analysis method of the poet's thoughts and feelings about the death and topics such as, pondering over death, fear of death (necro-phobia), life image and testimony in his poems is checked. The results show that Shafiei Kadkani poems there are four approaches to death: First; Escaping death and Death-conquering that is more related to his poetry beginning. Second; death in form of testimony and protecting the ideals, third; Mystical and Sufism death-praying that is showed in Molavi and Islamic mystics and forth; the Death affected on poet's philosophical concerns and have many image in office “Hezare Dovome Ahooye Koohi”. Among the species pondering over death also the mystical death-praying have the most frequency and testimony have the least frequency.
