comparison between effectiveness of methods as social stories treatment and pivotal response treatment in decrease of behavioral disorders of autism children

The aim of this research is comparison between effectiveness of methods as social stories treatment and pivotal response treatment (PRT) in decrease of behavioral disorders of autism children in age group 6-12 in Tehran City in year 1394(2015). Statistical society of the research includes children suffering from autism who have been under treatment and rehabilitation services in Padideh Clinic in Tehran in spring and summer 2015. Available sampling method was used for selection of sample group and 15 boys were selected and they were arranged in 3 groups (each contains 5 persons),(2 group for examination and one group for conclusion). The examination group was under treatment-behavioral methods of Social Stories and Pivotal Response for 36 sessions, the control group also performed their regular programs and any special interference hasn’t been performed on them.
The kind of this research is semi-experimental and in respect of the aim is categorized in applied researches.
Measurement tools of the research include assessment and treatment list of autism (Roland & Odelson, 2005) and diagnostic interview of autism- reconsidered (Rated et al, 2003). Indexes of descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with variance analysis test methods in one hand, also multi-variable covariance analysis were used for data study. The results showed that effectiveness of two methods is different and pivotal response treatment in most of the fields was more effective than social stories. But both of methods were effective to some extent in order to performance of interference and decrease of behavioral disorders of autism children, therefore application of both of methods were advised as treatment package.
