Analysis of meteorological drought and wet periods range using indices based on rainfall (Case Study: Halil River basin, Jiroft)

Drought is as one of the natural phenomena, that causes irreparable damages on natural ecosystems. Severity, duration, start time and end time of drought are special characteristic of this phenomenon. Meteorological drought is the most important type of that. This event is evaluated as shortage of rainfall compared to average conditions using indices based on rainfall. This study has performed in Halil river basin of Jiroft. In this study, two indices of SPI and SIAP were used in annual time step in order to study and analyze drought and wet periods range in study area. Results show that drought periods range is more toward West of Halil river basin and wet periods range is more from south toward North-West of area.
