Abstract:
Since there is not total one-to-one correspondence between Persian graphemes and phonemes, Persian writing system deviates from the ideal one; though literate native speakers of Persian can pronounce out of vocabulary words (OOV words). Knowing Persian morphology (how to break a word into its morphemes) as well as Persian morphophonemic rules and related transliteration rules enables them to pronounce some of out of vocabulary words whose morphemes exist in Persian. The present study focuses on Persian morphophonemic rules and related transliteration rules.
