Introduction of the book instead of Criticism

This paper explores both the significant book of Mansourian “research methods in Information science” and its criticism by Afshar in an article entitled “Comprehensive but raw”, published in Journal Information & Communication. Although many approaches were presented in Mansourian book, the main focus in the current paper is on Grounded Theory. There are different and sometimes controversial translation of GT in Persian literature that presented and investigated in this article. The Current paper explores the shortages and benefits of Mansourian book especially in GT, in spite of his effort to elaborate key concepts of GT. I present some pitfalls in his book, also review his strength especially in comparison with other Persian book in this domain. According to my view, Afshar objections were limited to editing weakness and structure of the book and neglected its content. The Title of the current paper point to this neglect.
