The Effect of Teaching Life Skills on Dare and Accountability of Imam Khomeini Naval Academy's Cadets

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of teaching life skills on dare and accountability of Imam Khomeini naval academy’s cadets. The statistical population of this study included all students of this university during the academic year 1995-94. This research is a pre-test and post-test design with control group. In the sample selection, a randomized cluster sampling method has been used. So, out of 220 students who participated in the dare and accountability tests as a sample of the company, 30 of them who received less scores in these tests were as a statistical sample. 15 of them were randomly assigned in the control group and 15 in the experimental group. The participants of the experimental group participated in 8 sessions of life skills training. However, no educational intervention was conducted for the control group. At the end, both groups were re-evaluated and the results of multivariate covariance analysis (MANCO) showed that life skills training had a significant effect on the level of dare α = .01 (F = 250.026) and student accountability (F = 79.82, α = .01).
