Check the amount of attention to sport and Olympic education in primary school textbooks

This study tries to have a content analysis of all primary school textbooks in order to assess Olympic educstion level in these books. Statistical universe include all elementary textbooks, 36 book in 5 grades and 4328 pages totally. This type of research is a descriptive research that take advantage of the content analysis method. These books were analysed page page and word to word and determined were recorded in a prepared checklist. Excel software was used for charting. After Data analysis results show that sport is observed in all grades but not in a continuous and targeted way. In the fourth grade sport is more considered. But in the case of Olympic instructions, in first, second, third and fifth grade we see no attention to the Olympics and its philosophy and only in the fourth grade we are referred to Olympics and its principles in a pictorial or written form. Among all the books, Farsi book have most references to the sport and the Olympics.
