Political Behavior of the Shiite Government of Idrisid with Umayyad Government in Andalusia

Since the emergence of Islam in Maghreb until the fourth century (A.H.), Islamic governments including Idrisid dynasty (172 - 372) have ruled over the land. Because governments of Maghreb were neighboring Umayyad's (138 - 422) in Andalusia, sometimes they formed political relations in order to protect their economic interests. Because Andalusia was separated from Maghreb, both Umayyads and Maghreb governments including Idrisid dynasty interfered with each other's affairs. However they both established relations with each other which excreted influence on their political behaviors, especially Idrisid dynasty with Umayyads in Andalusia. The raised questions of the present paper are: What were the effective factors on political behavior of Shi'ite Idrisid government with Umayyads in Andalusia? What were the results of such behavior for Idrisids?
By answering such questions, the formed political behavior will be described. Idrisid government usually had a peaceful political behavior in order to achieve and maintain power and stabilize its legitimacy. Therefore, the present paper tried to apply a historical approach by means of description and analysis in order to describe political behavior of Idrisid government with Umayyad government in Andalusia based on structure of power in Pluralism.
