Satisfaction from migration among expatriates from Iraq inhabiting in the city of Ilam and its related factors

At present, there are about 5,000 expatriates from Iraq living in Ilam province which necessitates attention to their living conditions. Given the lack of sufficient research in this regard, the present paper examined the satisfaction of immigration among this demographic group and its related factors by survey method. The statistical population of the study was all expatriates from Iraq inhabiting in the city of Ilam. The sample size was 357 people. Required informations are collected by using cluster sampling and questionnaire distributed among the sample. The evaluation of the hypotheses indicated the mean of the dependent variable scores according to the depedent variables of gender, place of birth, ethnicity and occupation of respondents were significant. Also, the correlation between social support variables, social participation, strategies for adaptation to psychological pressures and facilities in Ilam city with satisfaction from migration, was direct and significant.On the other hand, the relationship between the sense of relative deprivation and social isolation was significant, but reversed. Interpretation of the results of multivariate regression analysis showed that the facilities of Ilam city, relative deprivation and social protection explained about 40% of changes in satisfaction of immigration among the sample.
