factors affecting the technology sourcing method: Case Study of Cinnagen Company

Technology sourcing method is one of the most important issues in corporate strategic management. Over the past few years, this topic has increasingly received attention among researchers. However, most of these studies do not relate to Iran industrial environment. Due to this lack, this article tries to identify factors influencing the choice of technology sourcing method by studying one of the successful Iranian biologic frims.
This article is a qualitative research. Its data is collected through interviews and archival sources. The data are analyzed using the grounded theory method. The uncovered factors affecting the strain technology sourcing method are: "time to market", "need to confirm", "extent of the existence of strain generation infrastructure in the country", "fear of technological sanctions" and "technological capabilities of the firm". In addition, "features of biopharmaceutical industry" is identified as a contextual factor.
