Abstract:
Background and Aim
Philosophers have different approach towards the meaning of life. Some of these beliefs are in contrast of each other. This study explores the approaches of two well-known German philosophers: Schopenhauer and Nietzsche who have different views on the life.
Materials and Methods
This comparative study examines the views and common and different looks of the two philosophers in the context of the meaning of life. Findings: Schopenhauer believed in a word surrounded by badness and blindness. He in his theoretical framework has no escape from will and therefore is in giant suffering. Thus, he has no good attitude to happiness. Nietzsche as a student of Schopenhauer chose another way and has an optimistic look to the life. He tries to say yes to life by virtue of the sense "will of power" instead of "will of life".
Conclusion
Both Schopenhauer and Nietzsche to some extent believe in the Nihilism. Nietzsche in adverse of Schopenhauer tries to gain happiness and prosper in the world.
