Impact of role playing and simulation of simulation exercises in task-based and dimension-based assessment centers in employee's performance

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was toinvestigate the difference between high, moderateand low simulations,the fidelity,not fidelityof simulation exercises in two types of dimensionbasedassessment center,task-based assessmentcenter in employee's empowerment in theworkplace. Research method was the quasiexperimental research,participants in this studywere 24 managers of industrial Company that whowere selected through purposeful sample andaccording to Murphy & Myers's (1999) table. Theinstruments used in the study included thesimulations exercises (Role play, Leaderless groupdiscussion,Case study),EmpowermentQuestionnaire (Speritzer, 1995). Data was analyzedusing the Kruskal–Wallis test. The results of thisstudy showed that there is a difference betweenhigh, moderate,low simulation of simulationexercises in dimension-based assessment center andthere is a difference between fidelity,not fidelityof simulation exercises in task- based assessmentcenter (p<0.05). Therefore, it is concluded that thesimulation of simulation exercises is important inthe dimension- based assessment center,fidelityof simulation exercises is important in the taskbasedassessment center evaluation center. Theresults of this study will be useful in the process ofrecruiting,promoting employees through theassessment center.
