The Relationship between Shared Leadership and Organizational Commitment

  Shared leadership style is one of the important organizational variables that ‎affect employees' organizational commitment. This study tries to explain the relationship ‎between shared leadership and commitment as a moral principle among faculty members ‎of Urmia. ‎ The research was conducted by descriptive-correlation method. 183 members faculty were selected randomly as study sample. To collect research data, two standard questionnaires were used: shared leadership and organizational commitment. Data were analyzed by the Pearson ‎correlation coefficient and multiple regressions. ‎ The results show that (A) there is a significant positive relationship between shared ‎leadership and organizational commitment. (B) Components of shared leadership ‎‎(transformational leadership, transactional leadership, leadership empowerment of ‎individual and group) can be positive dimensions of organizational commitment ‎‎(emotional commitment, continuous commitment and normative commitment) to ‎predict. ‎ The use of participatory leadership style improves performance and ‎increases the organizational commitment of faculty members.
