Abstract:
Aim and
Background
Current studies emphasize the key role of some non-coding RNAs in regulating the severity of different diseases as well as early diagnosis of various cancers. The aim of this study is to investigate the relation of ovarian cancer with miR-196a-2 expression level.
Material and
method
In this study the expression of miR-196a-2 in 50 ovarian cancer patients and 50 control tissue sample were quantitatively investigated with quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRT-pc) technique. The GAPDH gene was used as internal control gene.
Result
Assessment of quantitative comparison showed that the miR-196a-2 expression level increased significantly in ovarian cancer patient in compare with control population. Increased miR-196a-2 probably effect through inhibiting the activity of tumor suppressor genes.
Conclusion
Based on miR-196a-2 expression level variation in tissue samples and quantitative increment in ovarian patients. We consider that evaluation of miR-196a-2 expressing level could be important role in investigation of ovarian cancer patients and could be use as biomarker to screen and early diagnosis of ovarian cancer patients.
