Investigating geopolitical problems of Afghanistan on Iran's Security; Case study of drug transit and border insecurity

Abstract Iran's geopolitics have unbreakable ties with its neighbors and we can say that many of Iran's geopolitical issues and challenges have origins in peripheral countries. The purpose of this article is review of Afghanistan's most influential geopolitical issues in particular drug transit and border insecurity on Iran's security. The main issue of the paper is that how the Afghanistan geopolitics in the field of drugs and border security has Iran's security affected? The results of this paper show that Iran is the geopolitical highway in the Middle East in a way, the geopolitical challenges of the periphery have a significant impact on its security and insecurity. Afghanistan due to the non-integrated, decentralized and non-national political, security and ethnic structure as well as a black and non-transparent economy based on the cultivation, production and export of narcotics confronted strongly defends Iran's national security in the economic and frontier area. Given this introduction in this article will try by using library resources as well as scientific and research articles to be paid analyze and explain the influential geopolitical issues of Afghanistan, in particular drug tenseness and border security insecurity on Iran's security.
