Flood Risk Analysis of Mashhad Urban Railway (line 1)

In order to cope with any threat, the extent and severity of the potential damage to the threat must first be identified and, by appropriate examination of the parts of the valued assets at risk, identify the hazard level of each threat. Intra-city rail transport infrastructure is among the assets threatened in cities. In this study, the effect of flood threat on line1of the Mashhad urban railway is investigated. This research is an applied research and analytical-descriptive survey method in two stages including interview and questionnaire. The statistical population of this study is 38 people including experts and managers of the Mashhad urban railway company. The semi-structured interview was carried out with 10 snowball method and up to theoretical saturation. To determine the probability of detection and severity of risk, 35 questionnaires were used, Then, using the available information, the FMEA methodology calculated the risk priority number (RPN) in each section and then used it to analyze and verify each of the threats. Based on the results, the highest risk associated with the RPN subsystem is 43.06, which indicates that this sector is more at risk in the event of a flood threat. Units of control equipment and power distribution system are in high risk area and the risk of these parts is high in the threat of flood. Technical departments and stations, passengers, operational personnel, staffing personnel, communication equipment and trains are within the medium risk range. These parts are at medium risk with a flood threat, in other words, they are in a state of emergency.
