Reviewing Determinants of Social Trust in Police among Payam Nour University Students in Meybod
Trust is the most important constituent of societal security, and in order to maintain security and social order, police is in need of trust. The present article aims at reviewing determinants of social trust in police on the part of Payam Nour University in Meybod. Research methodology is of survey type and it is implemented through using self-made questionnaire. including students of Payam Nour University selected through systematic random sampling method. Research findings indicate that respondents› trust in police is at average level. The results indicated that there is not significant relationship between age, socio-economic class, and family wealth, revenue level, trust in government officials, respondents› law orientation, religious compliance, quality of social interaction with police, social acceptance of police, satisfaction from professional performance of police, positive expectations from police, and police social jurisdiction; and level of social trust in police. Results of the multi-variable regression indicate that six variables: expectation from police, level of police social acceptance, quality of social interaction with police, police social jurisdiction, and having father who is employee, have forecasted percent of the variable variance. Therefore, cultural factors have had the utmost role in expressing students› social trust in police.
